If you would like to subscribe to the Jottings notification service, we need you to take two steps. First, please enter your cell phone number and e-mail address in the form below. Second, use your cell phone browser to go to the following URL: www.webbittown.net/up.hdml entering all those letters is tedious, so be sure to bookmark the spot after you are done! Note hdml, not html. At that url, scroll down to the [Jottings] link and select 'OK'. Your cell phone will then download the latest Jottings, and our 'caller ID' will be able to verify your number and provider. We will then match your phone number to the caller ID log, send you e-mail to verify you want to try this service, and put your number in the data base for broadcast when we recieve your e-mail confirmation. |
YOUR PHONE NUMBER - The phone number you enter will only be used to match against the cell phone caller ID record from the Wireless Web. If you are concerened about privacy or security, you may replace phone number digits with an 'x', 651-555-x78x instead of 651-555-6789. Simply enter all xxx if you wish, and we will request your number via e-mail. We will not call this number! It will not be entered in a data base. It will not be sold to anyone. We do keep a list of cell subscriber ID in a protected file. At the moment this is not over a secure connection, such as used for credit card transactions. The information your cell phone sends to our server contains data such as the size of your display, what sort of text or graphics your phone can display, who your up.link isp is, and your subscriber id. For instance, my id looks like: HTTP_X_UP_SUBNO ---> 6465551212_up2.upl.sprintpcs.com We WILL send notifications to your cell phone address if you subscribe. It does not cost you anything to recieve a notification, in the subscriber plans we are aware of. But you will need to use connect time to respond to it, for instance to read the notification text.
YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS - We need to have your correct e-mail address, to verify you are requesting this service. We will not enter your ID into the data base until we have confirmed your identity. Your e-mail address will not be sold or distributed in any way, it is only used by Webbittown to communicate with you.
